As Breast Cancer Awareness month kicks off this October, groups across the city are working every day to support impacted residents. Nearly 10,440 women in Georgia are projected to be diagnosed with breast cancer by the end of 2026.

Black women in particular are disproportionately impacted by the disease, with the lowest survival rate for every known stage of breast cancer across racial demographics, according to the American Cancer Society.

Residents who are in need of financial assistance, support groups, food assistance, and more can get help from nonprofits and clinics throughout metro Atlanta.
