Georgia Election Dates and Deadlines for 2026
The general election is Nov. 3, 2026. Atlanta voters will help decide the outcomes of several races and ballot measures. The deadline to register for the general election was Monday, Oct. 5.
All times are local. Atlanta is in the Eastern Time Zone.
Registered voters may cast early ballots in person until Oct. 30. Metro Atlanta voters have multiple locations to cast their ballots prior to Election Day.

How to Vote by Mail in Georgia
In Atlanta, you must request an absentee ballot in order to receive one in the mail.
Your application must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 23. Your county registrar’s office must receive your ballot before the polls close on Election Day to be counted. A postmark does not count.
Atlanta Election Day Polling Places and Hours
On Election Day, Nov 3, polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents can find their location using the Georgia My Voter Page online tool, by entering your home address.
Georgia Voter ID Requirements
Bring a government-issued photo ID that meets Georgia’s voting requirements. Voters who do not have any of these documents can get a free Georgia voter identification card from their local county registrar’s office or any Department of Driver Services branch.
If you don’t have photo ID, state and federal law guarantees your right to cast a provisional paper ballot. Once you cast a provisional ballot, you have a three-day window following Election Day to verify your eligibility.

The Three Constitutional Amendments on the Ballot in Georgia
Georgia voters will decide on three constitutional amendments, and some metro Atlanta voters will be asked about a new local sales tax.
Constitutional Amendment 1:
Increases the maximum qualifying acreage for assessment and taxation as bona fide conservation use property.
Constitutional Amendment 2:
Provides for the nonpartisan election of all probate court judges.
Constitutional Amendment 3:
Authorizes creation of Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund for 9-1-1 systems expansion, maintenance, and operation.
