Atlanta Board of Education members do more than sit in an hours-long meeting once a month. They make decisions that affect nearly 50,000 students at Atlanta Public Schools, a school district wrestling with gaps in achievement and racial inequity.

That’s why your decisions in the upcoming school board election on Nov. 7 matter so much. And that’s why we want to hear from you as 10 candidates vie for your vote.  What questions do you have for them? What big concerns about APS do you want the board to tackle? Five board seats are up for election, four in contested races — and the stakes are high — especially for Atlanta’s Black families.

Fill out the short survey above by Sept. 8 to help shape a questionnaire we’re sending to candidates in partnership with Atlanta Civic Circle. The results will go into a voter guide that we’re collaborating on.

You can also reach out directly and share your thoughts with our community engagement reporter, Sydney Sims, at sydney.sims@capitalbatl.org.
And don’t forget to make sure you’re registered to vote by Oct. 10!
